The Friends of West Bloomfield Parks and Recreation was founded in 1996 to support the goals of West Bloomfield Parks and Recreation.The Friends bylaws state: "The purpose of the organization shall be to promote informed public support for Parks and Recreation and to supplement Parks and Recreation services and resources in whatever manner possible, to encourage gifts and endowments to Parks and Recreation and to sponsor activities and projects of interest to the community."

New members are welcome to join the Friends of West Bloomfield Parks and Recreation throughout the year. Friends meet the first Tuesday, every other month. The remaining 2008 dates are: Tuesdays, August 5, October 7, and December 2. Membership is renewable on May 1st each year. Membership Annual Dues are $10 for an individual and $15 for a family. Patron Membership is $25 per year; Sustaining Membership is $100 per year; and Corporate Membership is $250 per year.

Only monetary donations are accepted by Friends which is a 501C3 organization and all donations are tax deductable.
