During the mowing season, the Karner Farm will be closed on Mondays from
8 to 11 am for maintenance.

The Community Garden and the Off Leash Dog Area (OLDA) are both located at the farm.

Off Leash Dog Area Information 2013

Registration for the Off Leash Dog Area (OLDA) for 2013 will begin on Wednesday, January 2, 2013. Returning permit holders have until February 8, 2013, to renew. (See note below about the new computer entry system.) The fee is $30 for the year (January thru December) and is not prorated. Only West Bloomfield Township residents may register. Registration is in person only (you do not need to bring your dog) at the Recreation Activities Center, 4640 Walnut Lake Road, in the WB Civic Center Complex. OLDA registration will be taken between 8 am and 4 pm, Monday through Friday (regular business days).

To register, you MUST bring the following:
Proof you are a West Bloomfield Township resident. (Driver’s License)
Proof of your 2013 Oakland County Dog License.
Proof of up-to-date, current vaccination, must include Bordatella, at the time of registration.
Registration will not be permitted if the county dog license, vaccination papers and driver’s license do not match exactly.

Attention Off Leash Dog Park (OLDA) users
New Computer Entry System

The new computer entry system was installed at the OLDA on January 10th. You will have until Friday, February 8th to renew for 2013 and receive your new fob or if you already had renewed for 2013, to pick up your new fob (please return all old fobs, we will be recycling them).
After February 8th, your 2012 entry fob will be inactivated.

Community Garden

Put down some roots and come grow your vegetables with us! The Community Garden has 64 plots, approx. 450 sq. feet each, are available at Karner Farm. Plots will be plow and disc by about Memorial Day, possibly earlier depending on weather conditions. Call us at 248.451.1900 or email at m_balewski@westbloomfieldparks.org to request an information sheet.

*Gardeners from 2012 will have the option to choose their same plot for 2013 beginning January 14 through March 29, 2013. Beginning April 1, 2013 all open plots will be released to those on the waiting list. All gardeners may have no more than one plot.

If you wish to be place on the waiting list, please call 248-451-1900 to be put on the 2013 waiting list.

Plots will be plowed by Memorial Day, possibly earlier, depending on the weather and ground conditions.

$45 WB residents/ $50 non-residents $20 senior rate (Age: 55 plus)
